Best Marvel Snap decks October 2023

Knowing the best Marvel Snap decks will help you dominate the free-to-play card game, from decks for beginners to ones that can take you to infinite.

Best Marvel Snap decks: Spider-Man, Wolverine, and Venom charging forwards

The best Marvel Snap decks aren’t available to you right away, but fear not, because alongside some of the meta decks in this superhero-themed card game, we also have the best decks for beginners too. So whether you’re still making your way through Pool 1 and 2, or you’re reaching the end of Pool 3 and gearing up to unlock the ultra-rare Pool 4 and 5 cards, we’ve got options for you.

The meta in Marvel Snap is constantly changing, and it means the best Marvel Snap deck at the moment is Zabu Darkhawk. The decklist can be found down below, along with plenty of other alternatives but both include Marvel Snap pool four and five cards, so you may need to use some alternative options if you’re not at that stage of the collection path yet. So without further ado, here are the best Marvel Snap decks in the game right now, followed by a few options for those of you still getting started in one of the best free PC games.

Best Marvel Snap meta decks

When you’ve made your way to the Pool 2 and 3 cards (collection levels 222-450 and 460+ respectively), your options for decks open up enormously. Even more so when you reach Pool 4 and 5. At the time of writing, Silver Surfer is immensely popular, as is Zabu, as they’re both the latest season pass cards. Here are the best decks in Marvel Snap right now:

Zabu Darkhawk deck

Who foresaw Darkhawk being the best series five card? Not us, that’s for sure. Nevertheless, this Zabu Darkhawk deck takes advantage of the card that has increased powers the more cards in your opponent’s deck, alongside Zabu, to create the most power possible. The gameplan, as you’d expect, is to play Zabu, then get down as many four-cost cards as you can. If you’re missing any cards in this list, you can always add more four-drops, such as Absorbing Man, Enchantress, or Drax.

  • Korg
  • Black Widow
  • Armor
  • Mystique
  • Zabu
  • Darkhawk
  • Shang-Chi
  • Spider-Man
  • Moon Girl
  • Rock Slide
  • White Queen
  • America Chavez

Negative Surfer deck

This is a deck that I personally used to reach Infinite rank last season, and is still proving highly successful in January. The goal is to play Mister Negative on turn four, then use Magik to fully utilise all the negative cards. Aim to copy Iron Man’s ability with Mystique, and spread your three-cost cards across the whole board for the final turn swing when you drop Silver Surfer. If you have her, Psylocke is a vital inclusion over either Adam Warlock or Rogue, but I don’t and reached Infinite without her, so she’s not included in this list. As a series five card, Bast can also be replaced by Sera, Forge, Mister Fantastic, or Storm.

  • Bast
  • Adam Warlock
  • Ironheart
  • Mystique
  • Silver Surfer
  • Bishop
  • Rogue
  • Wolfsbane
  • Brood
  • Mister Negative
  • Iron Man
  • Magik

Seracle deck

Seracle has one core card – Sera – and focuses on having a ridiculous turn six to swing the game in your favour when your opponent has already locked in a snap, so you can earn the maximum number of cubes. The already strong decklist has been improved tenfold with the introduction of Bast, if you can get your hands on this pool five card. Meanwhile, Mystique can copy the ability of any of the many ongoing cards in the deck. You can also combine this with the best Marvel Snap Silver Surfer deck for a neat hybrid.

  • Bast
  • Ant-Man
  • Adam Warlock
  • Angela
  • Mister Sinister
  • Mojo
  • Mysterio
  • Bishop
  • Mystique
  • Blue Marvel
  • Iron Man
  • Sera

Shuri Zero deck

There are plenty of high-statted cards in Marvel Snap that have negative effects, to balance out their power, but what if you could remove those negative effects entirely? That’s where Zero comes in. While you only have one Zero in your deck, if you’re lucky enough to have Sauron, he’s the MVP of the deck, but can also be replaced by Lizard or Vision. The plan should be to get Zabu down on turn three, followed by Shuri and Attuma or Typhoid Mary. Red Skull is the prime Zero target, while Attuma’s negative effect can be countered by Armor. Just make sure you don’t play Arnim Zola in the Armor lane.

  • Zero
  • Ebony Maw
  • Armor
  • Zabu
  • Sauron
  • Maximus
  • Shuri
  • Attuma
  • Typhoid Mary
  • Taskmaster
  • Red Skull
  • Arnim Zola

Zabu Control deck

We’d be remiss to not mention another option for the best Marvel Snap Zabu deck when talking about the current meta, as the season pass card for January is seeing a lot of play right now. The general gist is to get Zabu down on turn three, and follow it up with two four-cost cards. On turn five, as long as you have She-Hulk in hand, play Wave, or skip completely. Bonus points if you’ve played Moon Girl on turn four, as turn six will allow you to drop two She-Hulks in one go, plus another four-cost card or two.

  • Sunspot
  • Goose
  • Armor
  • Lizard
  • Zabu
  • Wave
  • Shang-Chi
  • Drax
  • Enchantress
  • Moon Girl
  • Rock Slide
  • She-Hulk

Patriot Surfer deck

Silver Surfer joins up with Patriot to star once again – seriously, if you don’t have Silver Surfer, you’re missing out. There are a couple of different win conditions here, the first of which focusing on ensuring Brood, Debrii, Cyclops, and Patriot are all on the board before Silver Surfering on the final turn. Alternatively, if you have a few of Wasp, Misty Knight, Shocker, Brood, Cyclops, or Ultron down, Patriot into Mystique is another solid option. Finally, you can utilise Sera to have an explosive last turn, and Blue Marvel is there as a backup if you don’t draw Patriot.

  • Wasp
  • Misty Knight
  • Shocker
  • Mystique
  • Silver Surfer
  • Patriot
  • Brood
  • Debrii
  • Cyclops
  • Blue Marvel
  • Sera
  • Ultron

Double Devil Control deck

An archetype popularised by YouTuber CozySnap as featured in the video above, our list very slightly tweaks his to include Scarlet Witch, Maximus, Nightcrawler, and everyone’s favourite 6-drop, Leader. This deck focuses solely on controlling the board – Daredevil and Professor X is a lethal combo that lets you win a lane on turn five, White Queen gives you the intel for your foe’s big turn six play, Cosmo can shut down their combos, Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur is one win condition for huge power cards, and Leader is a certified turn six win if you already have one lane secured and you’re less than four behind in another.

  • Nightcrawler
  • Daredevil
  • Scarlet Witch
  • Sentinel
  • Cosmo
  • Maximus
  • Moon Girl
  • White Queen
  • Devil Dinosaur
  • Professor X
  • Aero
  • Leader

Infinaut deck

The Infinaut is one of the most popular cards because there are very few things that can be done to counter a turn six 20-power card, other than Shang-Chi if you successfully predict where it’ll be placed and you flip second. This deck is simple – frustrate your foe with cards like Iceman, Scorpion, Storm, and Hobgoblin, win one location with Jessica Jones and a turn five skip, then play The Infinaut to guarantee a location.

  • Iceman
  • Sunspot
  • Angela
  • Lizard
  • Scorpion
  • Groot
  • Storm
  • Jessica Jones
  • Jubilee
  • Hobgoblin
  • America Chavez
  • The Infinaut

Lockjaw On Reveal deck

If you don’t mind putting your faith in a random element of the game, check out this Lockjaw On Reveal deck. The ideal curve here is to draw Lockjaw along with your low cost cards, play them on the same location, and they’ll swap themselves for the more expensive cards in your deck. Ideally, you hang on to Lockjaw until turn five (and follow it up with Wasp/Nightcrawler on the same turn), with Thor going down on turn three. Ultimately, if you’re missing any of the expensive cards here, they can be replaced by anything else with a lot of power, or if you’re struggling to find the cheap cards to proc Lockjaw, switch out Thor or Vision for Iceman or Sunspot.

  • Wasp
  • Nightcrawler
  • Lockjaw
  • Thor
  • Dracula
  • Jubilee
  • Vision
  • Jane Foster
  • America Chavez
  • She-Hulk
  • Magneto
  • The Infinaut

Best Marvel Snap beginner decks

These beginner Marvel Snap decks exclusively use cards that you start the game with and those in Pool 1, which is from collection levels 18-214 in the card game. There are 71 cards to choose from with these parameters, and if there are any you’re missing in your chosen decklist, you’re early enough in the game that replacing a few of them won’t ruin the playstyle of the deck too much. Check out our Marvel Snap tier list to learn which cards in Pool 1 are the outright best.

For this Pool 1 deck, it focuses mainly on On-Reveal abilities, which are effects that happen as soon as you play the card. Once again, Odin is the star of the show, while Gamora and Ironheart are vital inclusions also.

  • Elektra
  • Nightcrawler
  • Korg
  • Yondu
  • Angel
  • Medusa
  • Star Lord
  • Ironheart
  • Wolfsbane
  • White Tiger
  • Gamora
  • Odin

On the flipside of the On-Reveal deck, this Ongoing decklist focuses on effects that are constantly happening when that card is in play. Blue Marvel and Spectrum share the spotlight, or if you’re lucky enough to get an extra energy or the Limbo area which grants a turn seven, you can get both in play at once.

  • Ant-Man
  • Nightcrawler
  • Lizard
  • Medusa
  • Sentinel
  • Mister Fantastic
  • The Punisher
  • Captain America
  • Ka-Zar
  • Iron Man
  • Blue Marvel
  • Spectrum
