By free Steam keys, we don’t mean free games on Steam, as that’s a whole different list. No, we mean keys for Steam games you’d otherwise have to pay for. This can mean DLC for existing games you may own already (including free ones) or older games given away to promote a newsletter or a service.
If you’re looking for free PC games, there are some great titles you should check out there. Evercore Heroes closed beta
Evercore Heroes is a MOBA game that shakes the foundations a bit by having teams compete to complete objectives as fast as possible. This competitive PvE format means that the only thing getting in the way of a speedy victory is the abilities of you and your teammates and the skill to execute a game plan.
And you don’t have to wait until the Evercore Heroes release date to play the game. How to get Evercore Heroes free key: While this is not technically a Steam key, you can get one for free by following our Evercore Heroes beta giveaway instructions. The giveaway will last until all 5,000 keys are gone, so be sure to check the Evercore Heroes beta system requirements over at PCGameBenchmark before snagging one of them for yourself.
Sega Bass Fishing
Those with vivid memories of catching fish on the Dreamcast will likely remember this gem. Sega Bass Fishing has budding anglers venture out into one of eight locations and cast out their fishing line to hook up the biggest, fattest fish in the lake. It’s arcadey goodness and is a bit of a cult classic. Now if only there were official support for a proper fishing rod controller.
How to get Sega Bass Fishing free Steam key: First, sign up for the Sega newsletter before Monday, July 31. However, when filling out the form, make sure you check the box at the bottom that says you want the code for Sega Bass Fishing. After signing up, you’ll need to verify the email. You won’t get the code immediately, but you will get an email saying that Sega will email you a Sega Bass Fishing key straight into your inbox after Tuesday, August 1.
Moving Out: Movers in Paradise DLC
Moving Out is a physics-based game where you and your friends shunt furniture and other heavy items to a specified location. It’s a rip-roaringly silly game that will likely have everyone screaming at the mishaps that will inevitably happen with each passing mission. This free Steam key is for the DLC, which includes 14 story levels, four new movers to play as, and ten new arcade levels to master, but requires that you own Moving Out on Steam before you can redeem it.

Exoprimal Lars Decal DLC
Exoprimal is a multiplayer shooter where teams of five players must work together to beat the other team in various dinosaur-shooting objectives to suit the needs of an AI overseer hellbent on subjecting its ‘specimens’ to rigorous and dangerous tests. Like all DLC, this Steam key requires that you own Exoprimal on Steam before you can redeem it, but it comes with a free SteelSeries mascot-themed skin for your Exosuits.

Ever wanted to play mini golf but you don’t want to stand outside in the pouring rain or sweltering sunshine? So long as you and your buddies have decent internet connections, Golf With Your Friends is just the ticket with a wide range of themed courses to play. Just be careful how hard you swing that ball, or it could end up in the abyss.

The Walking Dead: Betrayal beta
From the makers of Project Winter comes a Walking Dead-themed impostor game where players must cooperate to survive. Some of your team members are out to sabotage the rest of the group for personal gain, so it’s up to the good players to work out just who exactly is to blame when things go wrong or who left the door open to let the walkers in. The Walking Dead: Betrayal beta runs from August 10 at 9am PST / 12am EST / 5pm BST until August 14 at 9am PST / 12am EST / 5pm BST.
How to get The Walking Dead: Betrayal beta free Steam key: Sign up or log in to your Alienware Arena account via the giveaway page. Once logged in, click the ‘Get Key’ button underneath the video. You can then redeem this key like any other code on Steam, but you won’t be able to play until August 10.
How to redeem free Steam keys
Have you got a free Steam key? If so, congratulations! So long as nobody has redeemed already, you are just a few steps away from getting a game or DLC for absolutely nothing. Follow these instructions to redeem your Steam key.
- Open your Steam client.
- Click ‘Activate a product on Steam’.
- Copy and paste your Steam code into the text box below and click confirm.
- If successful, click the redeem button to add the game or DLC to your library.
- You can then install the game manually or update the existing game with the DLC.
Do note that Steam codes come in one of three formats:
- AAAAA-BBBBB-CCCCC
- AAAAA-BBBBB-CCCCC-DDDDDD-EEEEE
- ###AAAAAAAAAAAA ##
If your code is unsuccessful, make sure that you don’t leave any rogue spaces at the end of the text box, as these will count toward the characters entered. If you get an error message that says duplicate code, someone already beat you to the free game. If the code is invalid, check that it’s, in fact, a Steam code and not a code for another service such as Epic Games Store, Microsoft Store, or even a PlayStation code.
