What is the next Dreamlight Valley update? Each new update to the valley adds new characters, features, and quests to the life sim, and we already know there’s a lot of room for new faces to be added. Fans on social media have previously requested the likes of Cinderella, Belle, and Stitch – and two out of three ain’t bad, so we know Gameloft are listening.
Despite being in early access, Dreamlight Valley cemented itself as one of the best PC games of last year, with a vibrant community, speedy bug fixes, and regular content updates. We’ve already had an incredible six large content updates since the game launched just a year ago. With “an almost unlimited source” of classic characters to choose from, there’s no sign of these updates slowing down yet, with the next Dreamlight Valley update due before the end of 2023.
Next Dreamlight Valley update
All we know is that there is one more major Disney Dreamlight Valley update to come in 2023, with new characters and a new Royal Tool among other features, presumably in December.
The 2023 content roadmap below confirms that there is one more update still to come, but with so much going on this Summer with an unprecedented three updates in four months, it’s no wonder we’ve not heard anything else yet. After all, the Enchanted Adventure update was only released on September 13, 2023, opening the door on the Beauty and the Beast realm and adding to the story of The Forgetting.
Based on the update schedule before now though, we can assume that the next Dreamlight Valley update will arrive in December 2023. According to the roadmap, it includes: “new characters, new frontiers, multiplayer, and a new Royal Tool.”. The multiplayer aspect on this is probably the most exciting, as the option to invite friends over to your valley has been a much-requested feature.
Dreamlight Valley update schedule
Update 7 pretty much reverts back to the standard two-monthly schedule that Gameloft has stuck to so far, following the DreamSnaps outlier. This is why we can assume that Update 8 arrives in December.

- September 13, 2023: Enchanted Adventure update opens the Beauty and the Beast realm.
- July 19, 2023: In the DreamSnaps update, take your best trackside photos as Vanellope Von Schweetz races into the valley and a new photo contest is released.
- June 6, 2023: Update 5, The Remembering, reveals the Fairy Godmother as the resident of the pumpkin house, and adds a massive new story line in which you come face to face with The Forgetting themselves.
- April 5, 2023: Update 4, Pride of the Valley, adds a The Lion King realm, in which a story unravels starring Simba and Nala – and a lot of Hyenas. There’s also a new surprise when you increase your friendship with Buzz.
- February 16, 2023: A Festival of Friendship reunites Olaf with Elsa, and introduces us to Mirabel Madrigal and the Mini-Casita.
- December 6, 2023: Update 2, Missions in Uncharted Space lets you unlock Stitch in Dreamlight Valley, and Toy Story characters Buzz and Woody.
- October 19, 2023: Scar’s Kingdom adds Dreamlight Valley Scar quests to the Disney game, revealing the new Mines, and new resources.
